About Barbara

Barbara Walshe is a dance teacher who loves dance teachers. She currently owns a dance studio in the Pacific Northwest - Blue Dog Dance. She's been teaching for over 20 years and has presented for Dance Educators of Washington, Energize Dance Studio Conference, and ArtsTime WA.

She started teaching dance while getting her degree in kinesiology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Since then, she has worked at numerous studios, a high school, a college, public schools and even prison.

One of the things she realized early on is teaching dance can be an isolated job. You'd be lucky to see another dance teacher coming or going before or after your classes. It's hard to collaborate, get new ideas or talk about issues with other colleagues. That's precisely why she started Dance Teacher Pro and the Dance Teacher Pro Podcast.

"I love that these are simple ideas that don't take much if any time to prepare" - Bella w.
